Classic Brick Breaking, Modernized
Breakoid is a polished take on the classic Breakout formula — bounce a ball off your paddle to smash rows of bricks until the board is clear. Power-ups drop from destroyed bricks and can dramatically change the dynamics: multi-ball splits your ball into several, wide paddle temporarily extends your reach, and laser power lets you shoot bricks directly. Levels introduce special bricks with multiple hit points and different behaviors, keeping the pace fresh as you advance.
How to Play
Move your paddle left and right with the mouse or arrow keys. The ball launches from your paddle and bounces off walls and bricks. Clear all breakable bricks to complete the level. Catch falling power-up capsules by moving your paddle under them. Lose a life if the ball drops below your paddle — you have a limited number before the game ends.
Paddle Tips
- Angle your returns by hitting the ball with the edge of your paddle — center hits return straight up while edge hits create sharp diagonal angles ideal for targeting corner bricks.
- Prioritize catching multi-ball power-ups early; more balls in play means bricks clear faster and you're less dependent on perfect tracking.
- When few bricks remain near the top, be patient — the ball often bounces in tight patterns that clear them without precise aiming.
