Bigger Grid, Deeper Strategy
The original 2048 was created by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014 as a weekend project, and it became one of the most-played browser games ever made. Big 2048 takes that same satisfying core — slide tiles in four directions, merge matching numbers, and work toward the 2048 tile — and scales it up with a larger grid that gives you more room to maneuver and build chains. The extra space makes early game more forgiving but raises the ceiling for how far you can push.
How to Play
Use arrow keys or swipe to slide all tiles in one direction. When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into their sum. A new tile (2 or 4) appears after every move. The game ends when no more moves are possible. Your goal is to create the 2048 tile — or keep going as long as possible to chase a higher score.
Core Strategy Tips
- Keep your highest tile in a corner at all times — build toward it rather than letting it drift to the center.
- Avoid sliding toward your anchor corner. Use the other three directions to fill in and merge tiles.
- Don't chase small merges early on; setting up chains of 2→4→8→16 in one sweep scores much faster.
