8 Ball Pool was developed by Miniclip and first launched as a browser game in 2008 under the original name "8 Ball Quick Fire Pool." Multiplayer was added in October 2010, and when the mobile version arrived in 2013, it quickly became one of the most downloaded sports games on both iOS and Android. Today it remains a flagship title for Miniclip, known for clean mechanics, a global player base, and a competitive ranking system that keeps players coming back.
Standard 8-ball rules apply: pot all your designated balls — solids or stripes — then legally pocket the black 8-ball to win. Aim by rotating the cue, adjust power with the slider, and apply spin — topspin, backspin, or sidespin — to control where the cue ball ends up after contact. In 1v1 mode you are matched against a player of similar skill across a variety of table locations. Foul on the 8-ball and you hand the match to your opponent.
